Managed IT Support
vCIO Services – A Part-Time IT Director
A vCIO – virtual chief information officer – gives a growing business the IT leadership of a technology director without the full-time salary: a plan and budget, regular reviews of risks and costs, and someone to ask before every technology decision.

Someone thinking about IT before it breaks
Small and mid-sized businesses rarely have anyone whose job is to think ahead about technology. Decisions get made when something fails or a salesperson calls. A vCIO changes that: someone who knows your business and your systems, meets with you regularly and keeps a plan up to date.
What a vCIO does
- Technology plan – where your technology should be in one to three years and the steps to get there.
- Budget and costs – a predictable IT budget, replacement schedules and regular reviews of subscriptions and contracts.
- Risk management – backups, security, aging equipment and single points of failure reviewed, with what to do about each.
- Requirements from regulators and insurers – help understanding what your industry rules or your cyber insurance questionnaire ask for technically, alongside your compliance advisor.
- Vendor management – one person who speaks to internet providers, software vendors and copier companies for you.
How it works
We meet quarterly – more often during big changes – review what happened, what is coming and what needs a decision, and update the plan. Between meetings you have a person to call before signing a contract or buying equipment. It works best together with our managed IT support, because the people planning your IT also see it day to day.
